A Temporary?? Pleasure

I recently had a very nice lunch at a local antique store/cafe near me.  When I shared my pleasure with the server, she let me know that there was a good chance the place would close in January.  My heart sank.

I had a delicious lunch (sandwich, soup, heavenly marionberry scone with cream, well-made English Breakfast loose tea and milk and sugar).  I was excited about making this a regular thing.  It's very close to where I live.  I don't know the drivers for the closure, could be a victim of the economy...could be the owner has inspiring plans elsewhere.  Selfishly, I hope it stays open, but I know that my desires might not be for the greater good.  Nonetheless, I can hope and enjoy it while it's here!

Note:  I'm leaving the restaurant nameless in case it remains open!  At that point I will celebrate and share the name!

That looks like a lovely store/cafe - I hope it stays open. That teacup is gorgeous and I really like the English teapot. Your lunch looks delicious - I think I'd be visiting there often too.

If you share the name now, it could help to stay open... perhaps...

I hope for your sake that this place is able to remain open.

Kris - I thought about that, too...but just didn't feel comfortable given the circumstances and not having a chance to talk to the owner.

What a lovely looking scone! I really like that teapot as well. I've seen that line at a local European import shop, and enjoy peeking at them. Hope your place is able to stay open or perhaps they'll find someone new to purchase it and keep it going. That's happened to our tea place luckily!

Oh, I hope it stays open too! I think antique store cafés are a great idea -- perhaps they'll reconsider!

I hope it stays open! So many quaint places for tea and lunch are closing due to the economy.

I am enjoying seeing your adventures in your new city.
