I find that a letter can take as long as an hour, or as short as 5 minutes. It depends on the tone and how much I have to share. Alexandra Stoddard has written a lovely book about letters, and the Griffin and Sabine trilogy is another favorite.
Do you have 5 minutes to write a short note to someone? Tell her how much you appreciate the support. Tell him how much you love him. Only have 2 min? Write a postcard! Tell me who you'll write to...

I just found out about National Letter Writing Week by visiting www.thingsunsaidproject.wordpress.com. Great stuff. Glad you're brininging attention to it as well.
You always have such lovely things. Mayhap because you are a lovely person.
I too enjoy writing & rec'g letters. I am writing to my sister-in-law this week.
I've written a thank you note to a friend, and a letter to my mom. We live far apart, and she's been wonderful about writing, even before she retired. I still need to do three more thank you notes but hope to finish them tomorrow morning.
Letters are such fun, and you made some excellent book suggestions! I need to reread the Griffin & Sabine books sometime.
I will have to think about who I would write to. I did just recently have one of my photographs (a rose I took at a friends house) printed into notecards at vistaprint.com and sent her the cards. She knew right away it was her rose and loved having it to send to her sister who has had some health issues. Now I want to print more notecards of other photos so I can send notes to friends.
OK, I am going to write a letter to my soldier friend in Iraq! I should have done that anyway!
I wrote a letter to my Grandma right after Christmas. It was just something I needed to do. Now I'm writing notes of thanks for our holiday gifts and visits. A little late, but still important to take the time, I think.
it is very good and informative.I high appreciate this post.I imagine this is a massive violation.
