A Perfect Day in Portland

In front of Mt. Hood, from the Japanese Garden

Sunshine, 75 degrees, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, tea picnic, shopping, dinner out....all shared with my friend Sweetcakes.  A perfect day in Portland!

A picnic tea party
Strawberries, sugar snap peas and rosemary (in the sandwich) from my garden

Can't get enough of that view!

Light playing in the trees, Japanese Garden

Champagne cake dessert, Papa Haydn (THE place in town for desserts)

That DOES sound like a great day and the view is truly stunning. What a great idea to go on a tea picnic. How did you keep the tea hot?

I've reopened my Give Away, by the way. If you're interested, take a peak at my blog and sign up, if you haven't already!

I have a stainless steel thermos with the push-button top that keeps tea piping hot! I brew it at home, put in the thermos and go. It's works amazingly well.

Beautiful! I wish I was there RIGHT NOW! There used to be a lovely tea room in the carriage house at Pittock Mansion. You would have loved it! I wish it were still there. . .

. . .rambling on about favorite places.

Your picnic tea = perfect!

Yes, Stephanie, I am hooked on Instagram! LOL! Hopefully it will wear thin (for me) before everyone gets tired of it. It really is fun!

What a perfect day. Love Papa Haydn's for dessert. My favorite is the meringue with cream and usually strawberries and a drizzle of chocolate. Now I must go. Love seeing your tea picnic too.

The Japanese Garden is such a beautiful place for a tea picnic. Your garden bounty looks delicious and that Champagne cake -yummy.
