Copper Kettle

I like copper things. I like how they shine, and I like how they age with a green patina. This copper tray is one of my favorites. We picked it up years ago at a yard sale. Even though I've put a stop to the purchase of new (or used) tea stuff (for the DH and me - he's an enabler of the habit!), I was excited when he made an exception to the rule and came home with this copper kettle, a thrift store find. Look closely. It's Revere ware.

That is a nice copper kettle. Is it just for display, or do you use it to boil water for tea?

I haven't used it yet to boil water - but I certainly could.

What a nice exception. I use my copper kettle when we take our little propane stove to the park and make tea.

I'm so glad the "enabler" made the exception for this great piece! Copper does seem to have a special quality about it, doesn't it? My town's historic courthouse is being refurbished this summer, and when I am in the breakroom at work making tea I enjoy watching the gleaming copper dome go up!

Revereware is a great find! Paul Revere's house was one of the historic places I liked in Boston. I always remembered the low doorways and wondered just how short Paul Revere was!
