Farewell Stella, and Thank You

Me, on Stella. Photo by the DH.

I pushed the electric start and Stella came to life. She purred quietly, a sleek feline next to the large and loud canine-like Harley in the next parking space. The Harley rider gave me a collegial nod as he stepped over his ride.

Stella and I pulled out of the motorcycle lot and scooted across the parking area. It was 5:15 pm and workers were pouring out of the office building. People stopped and smiled.

---

I sold Stella this week. I wrote a letter to her new owner, sharing her story and my story with her. I will miss her tangerine orangeness and her coolness. I will always be grateful for my bravery that came with her.

Oh :( that must have been hard. Love the name Stella...am sure you told me one time how you came up with that but you will have to remind me. :)

What a wonderful picture & tribute Steph. It brings tears to my eyes. Stella...a worthy name for such a beatiful machine.

Thanks to the gift she gave you (awareness of your bravery) she will live on in you for the rest of your life.

Here's to your inner tangerine. :-)

I hope you won't miss her too much. Remember the fun times.

Did you get the email I sent you earlier this week?

Oh, But you look so perfect on her. There must have been a really good reason to sell her.
I left a letter to the new homeowner who purchase our last home, it helped me in parting with it. I hope the letter help you as well.

It will be interesting to know if the new owner keeps the name Stella or renames her/him.

I would miss Stella. My daughter has a red one that she loves. I have thought about driving one, but haven't gotten the nerve up to try it.

Yes, so lovely to write a letter about Stella to the new owners.

Oh, she's so gorgeous! It's so difficult to part with our motorcycles and/or scooters. I've been bikeless a few years now, and it's making me crazy.
