Spiced Cider

One of the things I love about fall is fresh apple cider. We're doing the fall program with our CSA. We regularly receive cider, unpasteurized and pressed just a few days prior. Amazing!

I like to make hot spiced cider. I just throw in whatever spices I have on hand. Usually, that includes a cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, always cloves, perhaps a pinch of nutmeg. Yum! What do you use to make spiced cider?

Yum! I use the same spices as you (minus the cardamon, because I don't have any that's not ground).

I also throw in whatever I have and maybe some brown sugar. I have cider on my list the next time I go to the market. Yummm! It is perfect for this time of year.

Hi Steph,
I've just discovered your blog thru a link at Mary's tea cottage. How lovely... I'm not much a of a tea-drinker but I'm madly in love with china and teasets. Especially love mismatched teacups where nothing seems to match but everthing looks just soooo pretty. know what I mean?
Like your blog very much. couldn't find the follower section, but will come often . Will try your spiced cider, looks and sound so yummy. Thanks for sharing - you got me so curious that I must try. We do not get apple cider in italy but I bet i can look the recipe up on the internet and make my own. I'm sure my daughter will love that, too,
If you happen to have some timeto spare, come and visit my blog. I'll be glad to welcome you there and show you around a bit.
With warm wishes on a cool fall evening

I use Trader Joe's spiced cider as is! Not homemade, but quite delicious!

I'm sorry to say that I can't drink apple cider because of type II diabetes, but I have the next best thing. I drink Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple herbal tea and it tastes very much the same. It's even naturally sweet without sugar so I don't need to add sweetening.
I drink true tea most of the time, but herbals have their uses in my opinion.
